An international competition that evaluates students’ proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is known as the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship given by Certiport. The best pupils receive invitations to compete for their nations at the World Championship. Students are obliged to compete in a National Championship in various nations or regions, and the victors advance to the World Championship.
The Microsoft Word World Championship is an annual event that attracts students from over 150 different nations and will take place in Orlando, Florida from July 30 to August 2, 2023.
The competition held by ReadManna between October 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023, yielded six students who were chosen to represent Nigeria as victors.
The students are Victor Omoyajowo, a Word 2019 winner from Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota in Ogun State scored 976/1,000, and Adesuwa Igbinedion, a PowerPoint 2019 winner from Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State scored 1,000/1,000. Fenna Nwokeji is an Excel 2019 winner from Aduvie International School, Abuja.
Other winners include Bolurinwa Fabuyi, a PowerPoint 2016 winner from City of Knowledge Academy, IjebuOde, Ogun State, who received 925/1,000, Aderinsola Adeegbe, a Word 2016 winner from Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, who received 980/1,000, and Daniel Uzugbo, an Excel 2016 winner from Faith Academy.
The Nigerian version of the competition, according to Edna Agusto, CEO of the Readmanna empowerment initiative, is supported annually by Zenith Bank, Agusto Consulting Limited, and Airtel Plc. It requires students to demonstrate their mastery of the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
